Workshops and Tuition
Sharing my knowledge and helping others develop their skills and creativity is a big part of what I do. In addition to my work as a university lecturer and tutor, I often have the privilege of working with school-age composers and musicians in tailored workshops and programs.
If you're interested in booking engaging, inclusive, and interactive workshops and programs for your students, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Whether it's a seminar, performance, interactive workshop, masterclass, one-to-one tuition, or a bespoke combination of these, we can work together to design a meaningful experience for your young composers. I am comfortable covering traditional notated composition, electronic composition, pop songwriting and arrangement, and music technology and production.
"Chris immediately connected with the students creating an excellent rapport. His expertise in composition and education meant that the students were engaged, from the very start."
- Mr Jason Wisley, Head of the Arts, The Glennie School, Toowoomba
"Chris' expertise in music composition was invaluable to me throughout the composition process of my brass ensemble piece this year. His knowledge of, and dedication to the musical culture is of the highest order, and his willingness to help others made it an absolute privilege to work with him."
- Year 10 Student, Brisbane Grammar School
"I found Chris to be a fantastic mentor when workshopping and composing my piece. He always had helpful advice for me and new ideas to experiment with and made the composing process a lot of fun and much better and more effective than it would have been without him."
- Year 10 Student, Brisbane Grammar School
"Chris not only helped us improve our compositional technique, but he also helped us in creating professional looking scores. He has been a driving force through the duration of our Composer’s Camp, even up to the point of managing our last minute rehearsals for our Composer’s Camp concert."
