So sometimes I listen to Triple J and I feel so disappointed by what’s on there. This afternoon I decided that I can’t beat them, so I’ll try and join them.

This is my 2012 indie-pop song. It took me four hours to write, record and mix.

The lyrics are as follows:

I’m gonna write a song with a melody
That triple J will play on the radio
Floor toms on the stage on student night
Dance like we don’t have a care in the world
Hey look there’s a female vocalist
We take turns to convey a narrative
About what we wrote to each other in
Text messages and emails so that gen Y relates

CHANTY CHORUS SING ALONG WITH US
RICHARD KINGSMILL WON’T YOU PLAY MY SONG

Afro-beats and glitter and harmony
I heard Paul Simon’s Graceland is pretty sweet
I love you and you love me
And I hope these lyrics are vapid enough for the mainstream charts
Baby baby whoa whoa yeah

Here’s a song for Triple J, here’s a song for Triple J
